1/2 N is participating in World Read Aloud Day this year. It's on the 5th of March. We are all going to STOP! DROP! and READ!
Each one of us is bringing our favourite book to school to read to/with our Grade 3/4 buddies. We are VERY excited!!!
All the way on the other side of the world, students in Monterrey, Mexico, are joining in World Read Aloud Day too! We can't wait to share the titles of our favourite books with them and then read the titles of their favourite books.
We hope everyone gets a chance to read today.
Tomorrow, we have guest speakers (parents and grandparents) coming to talk to us about what school life was like for them.
1/2N - your task is to compose a question to ask our guest speakers about their schooling and to post it on our blog.
Every year at St Bede's, we have a scripture focus. This year, our focus is "Let us love, not in word or speech but in truth and action." We have discussed what this means and what we can do as a class to make a difference.
One of the ways we are doing this, is by noticing people who are making great choices and making Jesus real. When we see them making a difference, we write their name on a butterfly and give it to them to and tell them that we noticed them doing something great.
Katrina, Rebecca, Isabelle and Allegra have all received butterflies. Congratulations!
1/2N are learning all about Place Value. We've discovered that the PLACE you put your digit creates the VALUE of your digit. We've also learned that all even numbers have 'a partner' and will end in 0,2,4,6 or 8 and if it's odd there's always 'someone left out' and it will end in 1,3,5,7 or 9.
Here's some photos of us as we use our materials to learn about Place Value.
